The Eco Engineer is the creation of David McNally CEng MIET (UK). David is a chartered engineer accredited by the UK Institute of Engineering and Technology. David lives and works in Christchurch, New Zealand.
David has two engineering degrees and 15 years' experience as a design and performance engineer in the UK and European communications industry. He is now applying his passion for design and sustainability and his professional engineering experience to the field of sustainable building design and technology in New Zealand.
The Eco Engineer has a passion for good design, a thirst for knowledge, a tendency towards all things practical and a flair for communicating technical information. Areas of expertise include:
- translation of theory into practice
- effective communication through presentation, documentation, training and the web
- investigation through paper study, observation, interview and field trials
- collection, analysis and presentation of data
- hands-on engineering
- leading technical projects
- developing and deploying processes
- product introduction and vendor management
